Agenda Cover Contest:

https://artataddison.weebly.com/

From now until 11:59pm on Friday, April 24th, you can enter to win!!

WHO can participate?
There are two agenda covers: one for K-2nd and the other for 3-5th graders.
If you are a Kindergartener or 1st grader, you will be entered into the K-2 group.
If you have a soon-to-be Kindergartener at home, they can also join the K-2 group.
If you are currently a 2nd grader 3rd, or 4th grader, you will be entered into the 3-5th group.
5th Graders will be going off to Middle School and therefore will not be participating.

Rules & Reminders:
Please send me your cover design to carolynn.stoddard@cobbk12.org any time from now until 11:59pm on April 24th.
In the subject line or body of your email, PLEASE be sure to submit your (student) name, and class!!
Please also use the name you have asked me to call you, in the event you go by a nickname, your middle name, or an alt. name.
You can sign your name on the bottom righthand corner, but please don't make your name huge or part of the design.

WHAT: What material or mediums can you use??  You can do your design on a piece of 8.5"x11" piece of plain copy paper or drawing paper.  You can also use whatever materials you want to use to create this!!  You can't copyright anything though, so no characters, logos, phrases, etc. that are already taken.
What can you put on it??  Artists need to think about their audience and what the intended use of the art will be.  This is an agenda cover design for Addison E.S., so you want to think, Addison Elementary. Some ideas may be the school itself, the gardens, alligators, STEM (since we are now STEM certified!!), students, school supplies, Specials (Art, Music, P.E. Science Lab, Learning Commons), the playgrounds, the yummy food from the cafeteria.  There are a lot of things.
You should include Addison E.S. (or elementary) and the years 2020-2021, since this is for next school year, not this one.

WHERE:  Please create this at home.   Designs that get the most votes may be asked to either mail their work to the school, or we'll arrange for alternative drop-off time.

WHEN:  Honoring the Mon.-Thurs. times, voting will begin the 27th-and end on the 30th at 5pm.  I will send out an email or link to the finalists for you to vote on.   You will be casting TWO votes, one for the K-2nd agenda then vote for the 3-5th grade agenda cover.

Winners will be announced in our Admin’s Friday Video either May 1st or 8th depending on any runoffs or other time constraints.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH!!
GOOD LUCK!!
Doc. Stoddard

Students and Families,
Addison Learning Commons is excited to host an online Book Fair from Bedford Falls.  The link to the Fair is listed below.  When you get ready to place your order, you will be prompted to set up an account, and the school code for Addison is AE2.  The Book Fair will be open starting 4/15 until August 1st.  So, as we move thru the next few months, please considering buying books thru Bedford Falls.  The Addison Learning Commons gets 10% of all of the sales to use in support of student reading, purchasing new books,  and refreshing Makerspace supplies.  Here is the link:  https://www.bedfordfallsusa.com/products/?swoof=1&product_cat=flyer

Happy Reading!
Mrs. Nelson

PS...I miss all of you!
