What is a marine mammal? A dolphin! We will be read and discussed the nonfiction text "Dolphins" by Melissa Stewart. How did the author/illustrator help us learn more about ocean animals? How are mammals different than fish? We learned this and so much more as we dived in and talked about dolphins and then sharks. Vocabulary from the book: calf: a young dolphin equator: an imaginary line halfway between the North and South Poles mammal: a warm-blooded animal that drinks its mother’s milk, has a backbone, and hair oxygen: an invisible gas in air and water that helps animals get energy from food predator: an animal that eats other animals prey: animals that are eaten by other animals What is quick, quiet and has 5 rows of teeth? Field Day is on Monday

Reminders: **Students should wear sneakers for field day. **Have a change of clothes in their bookbags. **Sunscreen needs to be put on at home. **Water bottles are encouraged but are the student's responsibility not mine!  So disposable water bottles with their name on it may be best.  We will probably only take water bottles for the last 2 activities after lunch. ***Mrs. Matyus will be absent that day so it will be myself and a substitute managing  the class. Please remind the students to listen to volunteers and be on their best behavior. Gator Gala

Addison Gator Gala May 9th at 6pm Kindergarten students will be starting the program with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner.   Please have your child arrive in the gym by 5:50 pm wearing their Addison t-shirt.  Be sure to check in with your child's teacher when dropping off and picking up your child.
