THANK YOU FOR ALL THE VOLUNTEERS AT OUR HOLIDAY PARTY & THE DONATIONS TOWARDS THE PARTY!  ALSO, MRS. MATYUS AND I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY AND ALL THE GIFTS WE RECEIVED ! WE TRIED TO SEND LITTLE PRINTED THANK YOU NOTES WITH EACH OF YOU BUT IF WE DIDN'T KNOW WE ARE GRATEFUL !  I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It has been a busy week finalizing the second nine weeks and assessing for their second report cards. We've also been busy with holiday crafts.  Today, Dec. 20th, 12:30 pm, Early Release Friday, Dec. 21st, 12:30 pm, Early Release Our early release lunch is: 10:12-10:42 Our early release specials is: 11:40 **Our dismissal starts at 12:30 for early release but I have no clue what that means for bus stop drop off time.** Our class party is tomorrow and it is for the kids so if you volunteered please plan to work a station at the party.  I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  12/24/18-1/4/19, Winter Break, No School Monday, January 7th, first day back for students

Congratulations to our December Leader of the Month, Kenzie! Run, run as fast as you can, You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!! Who doesn’t love delicious gingerbread cookies!  This week was all about gingerbread as we read Gingerbread Boy by Paul Galdone. We also read different versions of Gingerbread stories by different authors. We will do the same thing later on in the year with other fairy tales. Vocabulary from the book: sniff: to take in short breaths of air through the nose threshing: separating the grain or seeds field: a wide area of open land strut: to walk in proud of vain manner dared: to be careless enough to do something Here are just a few activities you can do at home with your child this weekend: Make gingerbread cookies. Decorate a gingerbread house together. Reenact the story. Our focus this week was all about reindeer.  We will be reading and discussing Reindeer by Katie Marsico.  Reindeer have hooves.  Reindeer live in the Arctic.  Reindeer have antlers.  These are just some of the facts we learned about reindeer.  As we read our text this week, we learned how the author uses headers, labels, photographs and maps to help us better understand the information. Vocabulary from the book: Active: Busy doing lots of things Antlers: Hard body parts that grow from reindeer Arctic: Area surrounding the North Pole Mammal: A warm-blooded animal that has fur/hair and feeds their babies milk Hooves: Feet of a reindeer Here are just a few activities you can do at home with your child this weekend: -Sing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and see how many sight words you can hear. -Make reindeer food:  ¼ cup oats, ¼ cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, add sprinkles to sprinkle on the lawn on Christmas Eve  We had a great time seeing Rudolph
