Congratulations to our November Leader of the Month, Camden! Our focus in reading this week was all about being wise and brave. There are times when we might be afraid of something but then realize that if we are wise, we can overcome that fear. Our book this week is The Gruffalo  by Julia Donaldson. This story tells the tale of a wise mouse that should be afraid of predators in the woods, but he uses his wisdom and cleverness to trick them. The mouse is surprised when his cleverness almost backfires! Throughout the week we discussed ways in which we can be wise and brave! Vocabulary from the book: -Stroll: to walk slowly in a relaxed way -Tusks: large teeth that stick out of the mouth of an animal -Stream: a flow of water that is smaller than a river -Feast: a meal with large amounts of food -Afraid: worried that something might happen, scared Here are a few activities you can do at home with your child this weekend: -Go on a nature walk with your child and sear

Be on the look out for  a little turkey hand print in their folders today!  Progress reports will be going home on Thursday. I've attached an information sheet about "Helping Your Child Learn to Read". Everyone will be getting it as I thought some of the information would be useful to everyone even if your child is on grade level.  Vocabulary from book: nestled: to place or press in a snug or loving way  patience: ability to stay calm during a delay  leap: to spring into the air feast: Large and elaborate meal  slice: to take from a larger portion a
