January 27th - 31st

Our focus this week in reading is all about snowmen. We are reading a fun book this week called Sneezy the Snowman by Maureen Wright. This story is all about a snowman who is cold and looking for a way to warm up, but there are consequences with every method he tries. However, some children help him find the perfect solution to his problem!

Vocabulary from the book:
  • shivered: shook slightly because you were cold
  • melted: changed from a solid to a liquid
  • puddle: a small amount of water on the ground
  • campfire: a fire that is built outdoors in a camp area
  • scoops: round portions of a soft solid

Here are a few activities you can do at home with your child this week:
  • Have and indoor sight word snowball fight. Ball up pieces of white paper with sight words written inside. Read all the sight word snowballs you get hit with! Have fun!
  • Use marshmallows of different sizes along with toothpicks to make edible snowmen.

Congratulations to our January Camper of the Month, Sam!

STEM Night is this Thursday from 6-8!
