Science Lab Volunteer Letters

Hi Kindergarten,

I have been trying to think of a way to get thank yous from kids to our wonderful science lab volunteers.  Would you be able to post a message to your students to write cards/letters to the volunteers and bring them when they pick up their belongings at Addison?  They are welcome to thank more than one volunteer because there are so many for kindergarten.  I will have a labeled basket on each homeroom table for them to drop them in and I will pick them up and mail them to our volunteers.

Thank you!   Here are the names of volunteers for each K class:

Addison Personal Item Pickup

Families will be able to pick up their child’s personal belongings on Thursday, May 14. Teachers will be placing your child’s items in a bag labeled with their name. These bags will be placed by classroom in the cafeteria. You will be assigned a specific time to pick up your child’s items based on last name.  In order to ensure a safe environment, individuals will be required to wear a mask and only a small number of people will be able to enter the building at a time. Families will be entering the building from the front entrance, walking to the cafeteria to retrieve items, and exiting the building at the bus port.

Pickup times:

9am-10am    Last Names A-E

10am-11am  Last Names F-K

11am-12pm  Last Names L-R

12pm-1pm    Last Names S-Z

Although we miss everyone and would love to have the opportunity to visit with our Addison Families, teachers and staff will not be available. We are asking that people follow social distancing guidelines and stay at least 6 ft apart from others while waiting to enter the building.  Also, our school is still closed, including all other areas of the building and playgrounds.

To help make this process as easy as possible, please plan on coming to school at your assigned time. If you are unable to come at that time, we will be open on Friday, May 15, from 9am-11am for any remaining families to retrieve items. All items not picked up by 11am on Friday will be donated or discarded.

Also, if you have any library books or school items that need to be returned, we will have a location for you to turn those in as you enter the building on May 14 and May 15.

**From our classroom I will pack up their writing notebooks (which you can use over the summer), their headphones if they had a pair at school and any papers of theirs that I had hanging in the hall or around the room. All other supplies were shared among the class and any leftover supplies will just be used next year.**
