Welcome to Addison Kindergarten! We are looking forward to working with your children this year. To assist us in making this a successful school year, it would be helpful if you would: 1. Please send in a NUTRITIOUS snack to school each day with your child. We encourage fruit, yogurt, cheese and crackers, etc. (Please no candy, cookies or sweets or juice.) They may bring a water bottle to class each day if they choose to. 2. Let your child know what their snack is each day and where it can be found in their backpack. (Sometimes kindergarteners get confused about what is their lunch versus snack or forget they have one.) Also, please do not send snack in a lunch box. It is confusing for everyone! 3. Put your child’s first and last names in all articles of clothing and other items that might be left at school: Sweaters, jackets, hats, lunch boxes and back ...
Career Dress Up Day Friday August 31st
Friday, August 31st, is Career Dress Up Day. Your child should come to school dressed as what they hope to be when they grow up. This event is to help us teach our standard about Labor Day and why we celebrate it so please help them think of interesting careers and interesting ways to represent them in costume. To give you a preview of the week ahead: We will begin to read and disucss Helpers in My Community by Bobbie Kalman. We will find out what a community is. We will also talk about careers and what we might want to be when we grow up. There are so many people in our community that are unrecognized for their great work. This week we will be learning about all these community helpers such as firefighters, police officers, builders, electricians, plumbers, teachers, librarians, principals, doctors, nurses, dentists, paramedics as well as volunteers in our community.
