February 11th-15th
I'm keeping this blog post short and sweet. Mrs. Matyus and I want to say a big THANK YOU for all the teacher appreciation goodies and additional supplies for the classroom we received this week.
If you want a reminder of all the stuff we're working on this quarter please refer to last week's post.
Have a great break!
In reading this week:
This chair is too big! This chair is too small! This chair is just right! Our focus this week is all about the three bears. We will be continuing with fairytales this week as we read The Three Bears by Paul Galdone. We will be discussing character, setting, and how we use the information in the story to retell. We will continue talking about opinions in writing.

Vocabulary from the book:
trust: to depend on honesty
porridge: food made of cereal or grains
cooled: to let something get not to cold or hot
peek: to look quickly; secretly
frightened: to cause fear; scare
Here are just a few activities you can do at home with your child this weekend:
- Retell the story of The Three Bears.
- Make mask props at home using paper plates or pictures on popsicle sticks
Here are a couple websites to help with different strategies to use at home for sight words:
