August 5th - 9th

Please look over the following:

1.  Please send your child in with one healthy snack each day. They may also bring in a child proof water bottle, if they would like one (Please label all water bottles). Show the student what their snack is and where it was placed in their backpack to avoid confusion.

2.  Just a reminder – the cost of student meals are as follows:
Breakfast- $1.50                   Lunch- $2.35

Ice Cream is the only extra kindergarten buys and it is only on Fridays with a note from home. Ice Cream costs $1.25

3.  Our specials schedule is Monday – ART, Tuesday- PE, Wednesday – MUSIC, Thursday – PE, and Friday- PE Please have your students wear sneakers on P.E. and Music days.

4.  Our lunch time is at 10:48-11:18.  You are welcome to join your child for lunch on any day.  We just ask that you do not bring in any outside food, and you sit at the guest table.

5.  This upcoming week, please allow your child to walk to the classroom on their own.  This will help them learn our morning routine and gain confidence in themselves.

6.   Label all of your child's belongings. It is their responsibility to keep up with their things but having names on items helps us help them!

7.  Please be sure to write any dismissal changes or any other important information, in your child’s agenda.  We check agendas daily, and ask that you do the same, and then sign/initial on that day.

8. We had a busy first week of kindergarten! We have hit the ground running on rules and expectations for our school and our classroom. It would be helpful for you to reinforce those rules and expectations at home!

Everyone starts on Green each day.

Pink- Outstanding Choices

Purple- Excellent Choices

Blue- Great Choices

Green- Ready to Learn

Yellow- Think About It

Orange- Make Better Choices

Red- Parent Contact (note home on behaviors that got them to red)

Each day we will put a colored dot next to the day for the color they end their day on. It is OK if they stay on Green! Green is good! Do not worry if they do not move up each day.

The rules we came up with for our class is as follows:

1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Keep our hands and our feet to ourselves.
3. Walk on the blue line, hands by our sides and quiet voices.
4. Raise our hand to talk.
5. Be nice and kind friends.
6. We always try and do our best!
7. Be responsible, respectful, helpful and safe.

I would appreciate your support from home in enforcing our school and classroom rules to make for a successful year!

Thank you so much to those who came to Open House Thursday evening! If you could not make it please read through the PowerPoint I sent home.
